for the 49ers on guys to keep an eye out for on draft day. This should
give you a guide of guys to root for on draft day.
Cornerback
In the first round, Jackson State's
Rashard Anderson, Ohio State's Ahmed Plummer, and California's Deltha O'Neal
are the targets.
In the second round, Maryland's Lewis
Sanders and Louisiana State's Mark Roman are targets.
In the third round, Florida State's
Mario Edwards is a consideration. Oklahoma's William Bartee and Texas A&M's
Sedrick Curry are also intriguing options in the middle rounds.
Defensive End
In the first round, they like Tennessee's
Shaun Ellis and Kansas State's Darren Howard.
In round two, they like Arizona State's
Erik Flowers.
In the third round, Brigham Young's
Bryon Frisch is a possibility.
In the mid rounds, Colorado State's
Clark Haggans is a possibility.
Linebacker
In the first round, Syracuse's Keith
Bulluck is a possibility. Also look at South Carolina's John Abraham.
In the third round, Ohio State's
Na'il Diggs, Miami's Nate Webster, and Auburn's Marcus Washington are possibilities.
Also watch California's Matt Beck.
In the mid rounds, Hawaii's Jeff
Ulbrich and Oregon's Peter Sirmon are possibilities.
In the late rounds, UCLA's Ali Abdul
Azziz, Michigan's Ian Gold, and San Jose State's Sam Sherrod are possibilities.
Quarterback
The 49ers like Marshall's Chad Pennington
in round one.
In the third round, Tennessee's Tee
Martin or Hofstra's Giovanni Carmazzi are option.
Later in the draft, look at Stanford's
Todd Husak.
Offensive Tackle
In the first round, they like Oklahoma's
Stockar McDougle and Wisconsin's Chris McIntosh.
In round two, Arizona State's Marvel
Smith is a possibility.
In the third round, Boston College's
Darnell Alford is a possibility.
In the latter rounds, Mississippi
State's Wes Shivers and Colorado's Shane Cook are possibilities. Also look
at Syracuse's Mark Baniewicz and Montana's Chase Raynoch.
Tight End
In the mid rounds, Northwestern's
Jay Tant is a possibility. Also watch Boise State's Dave Stachleski.
In the latter rounds, Virginia's
Casey Crawford, Kent's Jason Gavadza, and Brigham Young's Carlos Nuno are
options.
