The 49ers' 39-38 shocker on Sunday has to rate among the team's top five postseason victories in terms of drama. Those five games, listed in chronological order:

-- 1/10/82 -- 49ers 28, Dallas 27: Joe Montana's 6-yard pass to Dwight Clark with 51 seconds left forever becomes The Catch and sends the 49ers to their first Super Bowl. .

-- 12/31/83 -- 49ers 24, Detroit 23: Montana's 14-yard pass to Freddie Solomon with two minutes to go gives S.F. the lead. The Lions' Eddie Murray, who had hit a 54-yard field goal in the first half, misses a 43-yard attempt in the final seconds. .

-- 1/22/89 -- 49ers 20, Cincinnati 16: Montana engineers The Drive, a 92- yard march capped by a 10-yard pass to John Taylor with 34 seconds remaing, lifting the 49ers to their third Super Bowl title in Bill Walsh's final game as head coach. .

-- 1/3/99 -- 49ers 30, Green Bay 27: Steve Young's 25-yard strike to Terrell Owens with three seconds left enables the 49ers to beat the team that had eliminated them from the playoffs in each of the three previous seasons. .

-- 1/5/03 -- 49ers 39, N.Y. Giants 38: Jeff Garcia and Owens lead a rally from a 24-point deficit in the third quarter. Garcia's 13-yard pass to Tai Streets puts S.F. in front with one minute left. The Giants botch a field-goal try on the final play.
