At the beginning of 1999 Valeria, a girl who lived in Milan, was raped. A few days later she committed suicide.

All the Media caused a big outcry because of this tragical event; but today nobody remembers Valeria and nobody knows that every woman can become a new Valeria.

I put up a poster in the entrance hall of my school to say these things; a lot of people asked me the meaning of those photos and those phrases...

HOMO EROTICUS (Latin: erotic man)

There is a tremendous contrast between the title and the image, because the former is a stereotype and the latter (an old father and his child are walking hand in hand) is a possible situation in everyday life.

FEMME FATALE (French)

In this case also there is a contrast: women not only represent the pleasures of the flesh, they are especially human beings, free and equal in dignity and rights.

Phrases

WHAT WE DON'T FIND DISTURBING IS NOT A PART OF OURSELVES (Hermann Hesse)

Today we don't find disturbing because of Valeria's death: in fact we think we are not rapers. But we are able to annoy a woman. This sin is not less mortal than a rape!

SEX IS A PLAY; BUT THE OTHERS' SEX IS NOT A PLAY (Gianluca Campanella)

Sex is pleasant and innocent as well as a child's play. But sex needs two people who are willing to play, not only one.
