The material Carlo uses to create his "sculptures" is leather, which he has produced personally for more than forty years in the family tannery. It is made from the hides of adult cattle from Africa, Latin America and Europe, tanned with extracts of chestnut, mimosa and other products. The hides are tanned in large wooden drums which, slowly turning for several days with the above-mentioned tanning liquors, complete the tanning phase, after which they are finished in various ways, depending on the purpose for which they are intended (leather for shoe soles, accessories, etc). Pieces are removed from the hides to be used in the creation of the "sculptures".
