GENERAL INFORMATION for all Versions

GUI adds and new features.

In the Datas' input zone (on top of the screen) a new text box has been
added to allow the user to insert his own documents' class and the relative
record's title and fields names.
In this version you can add 7 documents / information's classes fully
customizable. The added classes can also be deleted but also th relative
records will be lost. Three default classes, of the 10, are always available.
They are Credit Cards, Personal Docs and now the Class 'My Pictures'.
In this last one you can store your Pictures information and also see them
simply storing their titles.
You can use pictures Bmp, Gif or Jpg that will be reproduced correctly if
they have the measure of 10 x 15 cm (vertical or horizontal display).

I always think that an image can explain something better than
a lot of words so see HERE how the program works

Data Encryption and password

The program use now a new encryption process that use random keys and
a new store scheme making it not compatible with the old archives.
(Sorry but the first one was too limited). The password code has been revised
and should now works without bugs.
It has been unified the password behavior for PPC and HPC units.

Synchronization with CE units

The Desk program can always be sychronized with a CE unit through the Active
Sync program from Microsoft if you want use the relative viewer on a CE unit.
The system seems to work better but there are still some difficulties to synchronize
the archive with more than one CE unit.
Even if not necessary it should be better use a CF card to store Pictures if any

Installation

There are two ways to instal and use RemMe2002.

The first to use it as standalone application on a Desktop computer.
In this case copy the exe file (_5 for Win95/98/Me _6 for Win2000) on your machine
loading it in any folder or creating its own directory if you wish.
Thence copy in the same folder all the other files except the unused exe file.
Start the program and ignore the prompt to insert the Syncronized Directory, leave
the relative combobox blanked. Type in your password and confirm it.
That is all. (in this case your archive will not synchronize any external CE unit).

Use the second way if you want to syncronize the Desktop program with the relative
viewer for a PPC/PsPC or HPC unit.
In this case load the required exe file and the help, run it and when prompted, select
the sychronized directory of your CE unit among the one shown in the drop down
combo list Insert your new password.
On desk machine the program will run as above.
Copy the bmp files only in the synchronized folder. Connect your CE unit by Active
Sync and Install first the NSB runtime. (Do not be afraid of its dimension as only the
files you needs will be loaded).
When the runtime has been loaded use the setup file to install the viewer.
Follows the instructions shown on your CE display and, if all is ok, you could tap the
program icon to see the RemMe viewer.
Type on it the same password used on the desktop and if you will see the list of the
basic class of documents shown in the combobox on top of the screen the installation
is done and you can use immediatly the viewer because in the meantime Active Sync
has synchonized the bmp files and the Archive library with your CE unit

2 NOTE ABOUT THE ISTALLATION

On the CE unit the NSBasic Runtime must be installed. Someone can ask why i used
NSBasic instead of eVB for this program. There are two basic reasons.
First NSBasic handles better the object arrays and menu's code for any CE version
used, it is a bit quick and the runtime adjust authomatically on installation the file
you need for your CPU, without the need to compile a single application any unit CE
and CPU used.

USE THE PROGRAM

You saw common use of the program by the above Link.
The use to talk about refers to the remain operations not covered by that animation.
Take note that the Desk and Viewer (or standalone) versions work in th same way so you
will find HERE an illustrated page that show the following functions on desk version:
ADD A NEW CLASS of documents/Informations
ADD A NEW RECORD
MODIFY A FIELD
ENLARGE A FIELD

MOVE PICTURE PATH (For viewer version only)

Obviously this function is restricted to the CE Viewer only.
Using RemMe2002 with a CE unit you may use too main memory to store pictures.
If you use the option 'Change Picture Path' you can save your precious main memory
storing the pictures on a CF card or other storage support if available.
Select this option from the menu. Accept the default option in the textbox shown or write
in the path to your CF card. Press the button Change shown at side of the textbox.
When the textbox and the button disappear the path has been changed. You need now to
move manually the pictures to the new folder. In this case you have also to move the
pictures on the desktop to the RemMe2002 program' s directory to avoid that the next
synchronization could duplicate pictures' files in your CE device .
