Nut Crust Nut Crust 1/2 Cup Nuts such as Walnuts, Almonds, Hazelnuts, Pecans. 3/4 Cup Flour. 4 Tablespoon Butter, cut Into Small Cubes. 1 Egg Yolk. Finely grind the nuts in a food processor, or place them in a plastic bag and smash with a meat mallet or rolling pin. Mix the ground nuts, flour, and butte. Pulse 10 times in food processor, or until the ingredients are assimilated. Add the egg yolk and stir until incorporated. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter a 9-inch pie or tart pan. Place the dough in the middle of the dish and press it into the bottom and up the sides to forma a crust. Pick the dough in several spots with a fork. Line the inside of the dough with parchment paper and fill with baking beans. Bake 18 to 20 minutes, or until crust is golden brown. Remove beans. Let cool before filling. Yield: Bottom crust for a 9-inch Pie.
