Una delle ultime opere di Miyazaki, datata 1997, ma giunta in Italia solo nel 2000. Pur non essendo all'altezza di lavori precedenti come Nausicaa, Laputa o Totoro, "La Principessa Mononoke" ha goduto di maggior fortuna all'estero grazie all'accordo raggiunto tra lo studio di Miyazaki (Studio Ghibli) e la Walt Disney, che ha acquistato i diritti per distribuirne le opere al di fuori del Giappone. La speranza è che sia solo la prima delle opere del maestro a varcare i confini giapponesi per approdare nelle nostre sale. Rimane comunque un'opera spettacolare e molto coinvolgente, caratterizzata dall'amore per la natura che Miyazaki presenta in ogni suo lavoro. Sono usciti per la vendita sia la videocassetta che il (superbo) dvd per i tipi della Buena Vista, mentre la Planet Manga (Marvel Italia) ha pubblicato l'anime book.
 
 One of the latest works of Miyazaki, dated 1997, but released in Italy only in 2000. Even if it can't stand the comparison with his earlier works as Nausicaa, Laputa or Totoro, "Princess Mononoke" achieved a greater success abroad thanks to an agreement reached between Miyazaki's study (Ghibli Study) and Walt Disney, which purchased the rights to distribute Miyazaki's works out of Japan. We hope that this will be the first of this master's works to cross the border of Japan and be shown in Italian cinemas. However, it is a fantastic and very exciting work, characterised by the love for nature typical of the work of Miyazaki. The Buena Vista Italy relase video and (a great) dvd, while Planet Manga (Marvel Italia) published the anime book.
