In un'ipotetica terra del 1997, a Tokyo, per
mantenere l'ordine, la polizia decide di adottare la tecnologia dei Labors,
meccanismi di costruzioni all'avanguardia, già da tempo utilizzati per il
perseguimento del Progetto Babilonia, una serie di imponenti dighe atte a
salvare la città dal repentino ed inarrestabile alzarsi del livello delle
acque, ma sempre più spesso utilizzati anche per compiere crimini comuni.
Nell'anime vengono narrate in particolare le
vicende che riguardano la Seconda Sezione Veicoli Speciali, appena istituita ed
in grado di avvalersi dei modernissimi AV-98 della Shinohara, i Labor più
avanzati sul mercato. Protagonista della storia è Noa Izumi, giovane pilota con
una grande passione per i Labor, al punto da arrivare a rinominare
affettuosamente il suo AV-98 con il nome di "Alphonse" e di trattarlo quasi
come se fosse un essere vivente. Ma i Labor non sono i veri protagonisti di
quest'anime, che si incentra, piuttosto sulle vicende quotidiane dei membri
della squadra in cui opera Noa.
In
1997, in a hypothetical world in Tokyo, the police decides to adopt the Labors
technology to maintain the public order. These are innovative construction
mechanisms, which had been used for some time to pursue the Babylon project, a
series of impressive dams to save the town from the inexorable raising of the
water level, but which are often used also to commit common crimes.
In particular, the anime tells about the story of the Second Special Vehicles
Section, creted very recently and availing itself of the modern Shinohara AV-98,
the most advanced Labors on the market. The main character in this story is Noa
Izumi, a young pilot having a great passion for the Labor, to the point of
affectionately nicknaming "Alphonse" his AV-98 and of treating it
almost as if it were a living being. But the Lbor are not the real heroes in
this anime, which is mainly concerned about the daily life of the members of
Noa's team.
