Andre My name is Andre, I was born in Peru (Lima) and I have been living in Italy for 12 years In this town I have found many friends. Also here, in this school, I have been very well because I have found some teachers that are understanding and supporting me. With my schoolmates I have a good relationship based the friendship and respect. I have a good feeling with them, because they make me feel as in my country. In my spare time I like listening music and sometime I go to the disco. I like sports, soccer particularly (I also play in a team). My favourite subjects are mathematics, history and gym.
Carlos E. My name is Carlos Giorgini and I'm 19 years old. I come from Argentina and I have been living in Rome for 8 years. I attend evening courses in Armellini and I'm very happy to be able to improve my knowledge. I would like to go to the university to become an important and competent person so, when I return one day to my country, I'll do a lot of good things for my citizens. I like to live in Rome but sometimes my skin colour give me some problems. I feel strongly the lack of my childhoods' friends and my relatives. My mother and I need to work a lot if we want to live with dignity in this country.
Julio My name is Julio Ortega, I am a 19 years old Peruvian boy. I come from Lima and I have been living in Rome, with my mother, for one year. I would like to describe something about my native country: Peru. It's a country with a great millenary culture, unfortunately it's crossing today an unstable period, not very good on the economic aspect. Because of this a lot of people are forced to emigrate. Peru has a lot of natural resources but it's governed by inefficient people. I've grown up in Lima but I was born in Callao, a place situated on west of Lima. Callao is an industrial area: very developed are fishing and the commerce animate the harbor activity. In the meantime I completed the secondary school and I wanted to go to the university. For this my father asked a loan but it wasn't enough. The academies in Peru are private, therefore if I wanted to study I had to work. I found a job in a typographer but, even if in the school I was one of the best I was, day after day, too tired. So I finally decided to come to Italy, where my mother was waiting for me anxiously, so much that when we met we both cried. I have worked as dishwasher, baby-sitter and now I clean the buildings. I like to study in this school and I would like to become a computer technician. I like to live in Rome, I have many friends but often I have nostalgia of my country. One day I hope to return in Peru and with my professional competences I would like to help my country to improve.
Karen My name is Karen Milgros Ludena, I come from Lima and I'm living in Rome with my husband and his brother. I work as a babysitter and in a import-exports agency products, besides, I study in an evening technical school. I consider myself a calm and very sociable person. I like animals and the sea. Before coming to Italy I studied full time in the first five days of the week (I was in the first year in the university-zoology department), on Friday and Saturday I use to work in my father's restaurant. Franco, that now is my husband, had arrived in Italy before me. We had nostalgia each other because we are tied up since we were children. After eight months (in Italy) he returned to Peru and has brought me here, even if a bit my parents' disagreement. I could say that I have emigrated above all for love. Nowadays my situation is not so bad, but not very good. I would like to work more and to improve my school profit because it is not so good. I really miss my parents, my brothers and my dogs. Every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday I call them in the Peru, whereas they (my parents) call me on Tuesday and Friday (however after midnight, when it costs less). These one my future projects: first of all I'd like to finish the school and then to undertake studies that could really satisfy me. I also would like to become a better person. At the same time, with my husband, we are preparing a future for our children that sooner or later will be born. I don't believe that we will stay in Italy forever.

They came in Italy three years ago because they wanted to find a job just here. In the first period I have had some difficulties because I didn't know Italian and I didn't have friends. I felt the lack of my grandparents and of the friends left in my Country. But when I have begun to attend the middle school in Italy I have met some friends that helped me to learn the Italian language. After the middle school diploma I returned to my Country to visit my grandparents and to see old friends. They have been very happy to see me. Now I am again in Italy where I'll have to stay for a lot of time but without forgetting my Country with its language, tradition, culture and typical dishes.

Gino My name is Gal Andrei Gino and I'm studying at the third year of this technical school. I came to Italy during the summer of 2002. Here my parents had established few years before me. When I chose to come to Italy I haven't thought so much about the problems that I had to face here, above all to learn a new language. In that summer I tried to learn some essential Italian words even if in my family everybody normally speak our language. I have begun the school in September and immediately the language became a big problem. Fortunately I have found some good teachers that helped me to overcome this handicap, while I have tried to do better than possible. I attended an extra Italian language course (for foreigners) where my language situation became better. In this school at the beginning I didn't have a very good relationship with my schoolmates. They were a bit envious seeing my better competences in some subjects as mathematics, physics and chemistry. Very few helped me to overcome my language difficulties. Thanks to the teachers at the end I have however passed to the next class without any debt. Today, even if in this country for three years, I still have some problems regards as the Italian language but I hope to overcome definitely this limit.
Viorel My name is Macovei Viorel and if I have understood well, I should speak about my Italian experience that has been more beautiful rather than unpleasant. When I was 13-14 years old my parents wanted a good future for me, therefore I had to attend a good school to get the best of myself. It's possible to find good school also in my country but when you end the studies it's not so easy to find a good job. Besides, our governors wanted to introduce in the schools a new language (Russian instead of Romanian): surely I would have found a lot of problems. When I arrived here I didn't know this language and I didn't have friends. Fortunately during the next months my classmates gave me a important help. In that period however, I felt alone, different from the others, rejected, even if it wasn't truth, this I have been feeling inside. Today it's different. I am feeling almost at home, even if not totally. Now, that I have met some Italian boys, I can tell the difference between us and them, nevertheless I think we can become very good friends. This (in few words) it's my Italian's experience.
Alensandr My name is Alensandr Karchagin and I have been living in Italy for 5 years. I come from Ukraine and I'm enough satisfied of the my situation here. I have many friends but eight year-old greater of me, besides I still see same friends of my middle school. One of them is now in this school. I return every summer in Ukraine to see my relatives and also my friends that every time think that I am changed. I like Rome a lot, however, this city has a bad point: it's very dirty and nobody respects the environment.
Savka My name is Savka Dmytro and I live in Rome in Vigna Pia Street. I was born in 1989 and I came from Ukraine three years ago, above all because my mother wanted it. I am well here now, however I have some nostalgia of my country. The relationships with Italian boys are good and I have already got many friends. My project for the future is to end this secondary school and I would like to specialize in computer science, that is my passion. Surely, I would like to return to my country.

Therefore I wasn't able to find new friends and at the same time I felt the lack of my old friends and my grandparents. It wasn't an easy period for me. A couple of weeks later I have started to attend the middle school I have met some new friends, that helped me to learn the Italian language. The time has quickly passed, the vacations finally arrived and therefore a possibility to return to Poland to meet my old friends and also my grandparents. Now I am again in Italy where new friends and a new school were waiting for me. Even if I have integrated custom, habit and traditions of this Country I have not certainly forgotten to be Polish, I have not forgotten my language, the culture, the traditions, the old friends…
Dimitri My name is Dimitri, I am 21 years old and I come from Russia. In my country I have already studied but, mainly to learn Italian language, I'm attending this evening courses. I came to Rome two years ago because I wanted to follow my mother who had found a job as a cook with the help of one of her friend. In my country we didn't have enough to live: no house, no job and many sacrifices. I work with my mother and I attend the school. I love computer science and I want to go to university. I don't know if I return to my country because I am not able to foresee my future yet. In the meantime I feel to say thanks to this school and its teachers.
