D'eux - The album
[continuation]
It's strange but it's like that, I don't know if it happens to you too.
It starts with the wonderful POURQUE TU M’AIMES ENCORE (romantic), which
really expresses the deep meaning of the love; the next one is LE BALLET
(blues):
a song very particular, with those snaps used as percussions; on the
contrary, a
great rhythm characterizes REGARDE MOI (rhythmic), while the following song is a
suave ballade: JE SAIS PAS (seductive); rumours say that it's the favourite one of our Céline after Ce n’etait qu’un reve
because its meaning adapts to the life of this great Diva.
The theme of LA MEMOIRE D’ABRAHAM (religious) is slow but however
pleasant, while CHERCHE ENCORE (full of passion) is more lively and
captivating; DESTIN (cool) is the next one, with its cool and carefree
theme almost setting itself against the following song:
LES DERNIERS SERONT LES PREMIERES (deep), sung by the very good Jean Jacques Goldman
as well, who wrote and set to music all the songs of the album; on the
contrary, J’IRAI OU TU IRAS
(unwinding) is very rock, and I daresay grunge as well, and Céline sings
it in a wonderful way and with a lot of
energy, with Goldman. The next song is J’ATTENDAIS (relaxing): it's a
ballade with a quite theme that only Céline can perform in such a
wonderful way, and then we find the wild rhythm of PRIERE PAIENNE (lively).
Finally, the album ends with one of the most touching songs that Céline
has never sung, in my opinion: VOLE (touching); as we know, it's
dedicated to Karine, the little niece of Céline died in her arms from
cystic fibrosis. I declare beforehand that I don't neither study nor
speak french (only english) but I must say that this album can involves
and enthralls your emotions as a few ones can do; I'm not joking, but
surely you already know that, my dear Céline’s Maniacs, and we
haven't to wonder the reason... of course it's thanks to our very good NIGTHINGALE OF QUEBEC!!!
