Eccovi alcune immagini che ho scattato durante l'esaltante trasferta di Birmingham il 19 maggio 1999 in occasione della nostra grande vittoria in Coppa delle Coppe per 2 a 1 contro il Real Mallorca, con gol decisivo di Pavelino nostro.

Here you can see some images shot during the wonderful trip to Birmingham on the 19 of May 1999, for our great victory in the Cup Winners Cup Final. It was 2 to 1 against Real Mallorca, with decisive goal by our fabulous little Pavel.

Eccoci pronti alla partenza IN MACCHINA. Ebbene sì, ci siamo fatti migliaia di chilometri in macchina attraverso l'Europa alternandoci alla guida...come dice la canzone: "farò quel che potrò per la mia Lazio!". La traversata della ManicaSulle orme di Giulio Cesare, affrontiamo da Romani la traversata della Manica per conquistare l'Inghilterra. I romanisti invece guardano la TV e, come recitava uno degli striscioni più divertenti visti a Birmingham: "Noi oltre Manica, voi a Torvajanica!".

The crossing of the ChannelOn the footsteps of Julius Caesar, we face as Romans the crossing of the Channel. The romanisti in the meantime are watching TV and, as one of the funniest banners in Birmingham was saying, "Noi oltre Manica, voi a Torvajanica!". If you are visiting this site from Thailand, Torvajanica is a not very glamorous resort town near Rome.

Abituandosi alle abitudini inglesi...

Sulla nave Max ammira la pagina tre del giornale "The Sun", mentre Danilo si mangia l'unico cibo inglese, il fish and chips, anche noto a Roma come "Filetto de baccalà".

Getting accustomed with British traditions...

On the ship Max is admiring page three of "The Sun", while Danilo is eating the one and only english food, fish and chips. We have it in Rome too, by the way, and we call it "Filetto de baccalà".

Finalmente allo Stadio!Eccomi all'entrata della curva dei Laziali, e non potevo non farmi una foto con lo striscione del quartiere dove sono nato, la Garbatella. L'emozione è fortissima!

Finally the Stadium!Here I am at the entrance of the stand for the Laziali. I had to take this picture with the banner of the district of Rome where I was born, "Garbatella". The excitment is rising!

Pronti ad esplodere...Con la sciarpetta degli Irriducibili, nel momento "topico" del...".so' già du' ore che stamo qui a aspettà...". I nostri posti erano così vicini alla bandierina che ti veniva voglia di calciare gli angoli insieme a Sinisa!

Ready to explode....With the Irriducibili scarf, in the tipical "We have been waiting here for two hours already...". Our seats (on which we stood anyway!) were so close to the corner flag that we felt like kicking the corner kicks with Sinisa!

La Coppa è nostra! La squadra corre verso di noi, nell'aria si diffonde la musica di "We are the Champions". Siamo tutti in lacrime, c'è Cragnotti sotto la Curva, Nedved è in trionfo! Ed ora AVANTI LAZIO verso nuove vittorie!
