Chicane non è altro che un progetto elettronico solista dell'artista inglese Nick Bracergirdle orientato prevalentemente verso il genere dance e strumentale. Noto principalmente per il singolo trance riempipista "Offshore", "Dont' Give up" con la voce del rocker Bryan Adams e altre songs importanti come "Saltwater" e "No ordinary morning" ha saputo miscelare ottimamente elettronica danzereccia cantata a pezzi strumentali di grande impatto. Con il "Best of 1996-2008" viene celebrato nel dettaglio il periodo forse di massimo splendore artistico di Chicane attraverso una stupenda carellata di pezzi che spaziano verso il genere chill-out, trance e ambient. Tirando le somme una compilation dunque veramente ben assemblata che riassume in maniera efficace la carriera artistica di questo progetto elettronico di tipo danzereccio.
