barbotine dish The " barbotine " is a decoration in relief on a ceramic object obtained pouring semi-liquid clay through a beef horn. "Barbotine" is the French definition for this tecnique, but the procedure was well known since antiquity.
This barbotine dish was probably made in Austria, at the end of 19th century.
The dish has a central triangular space with a sunset landscape on a river. The white sides are decorated in relief with floral motifs.
The dish has a 6 1/2 in. diameter (cm. 17) and was bought by an Italian dealer at an Antique Market.barbotine mark
