Universal patrimony of the Unesco. Known in all the world for his unique octagonal form with likewise eight octagonal towers. The inside space, has divided on two pianos and each is fully grown from eight salt, with to the center a courtyard.

To half around of the external wall runs a frame that points out the separation between the two inside pianos. Between each couple of towers opens a "monofora" and a "bifora" in high side.The carries of entry it is a mixture of Gothic (arc to acute order, columns that lions support) and of elements classical Romans.

Castel del Monte could be considered the more representative monument from the personality of Fred II of Svevia (1194-1250), child of Constancy of Altavilla and of Henry IV.
