SYMPOSIUM LOCATION

NANOMEC-06 will take place in the Main Conference Rooms of the Engineering School of the Politecnico di Bari. The Engineering School is host by a set of modern buildings located in a large campus area close to the city centre of Bari.

Politecnico di Bari, the first polytechnic institute in Southern Italy, was established in 1990 as the result of merging Engineering and Architecture Schools. Faculty members and administrative staff as well as scientific equipment moved to the new facilities located in the main campus near the downtown area.

Engineering School as a part of University of Bari has a long standing tradition as it was set up in 1947 while Architecture School has a more recent tradition as its establishment dates only 1990. Engineering School includes all most important technical curricula: Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Civil and Environment Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial and Management Engineering. The School of Architecture offers graduate courses in Architecture and Industrial Design.

Reputed as one of the best technical institutions in Italy, Politecnico di Bari enrols about 10,000 students that can choose among a wide spectrum of undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate courses related to the above mentioned technical areas. Study programs can be tailored by including participation to industrial stages and projects funded by European Union. Final projects before graduation can be developed abroad.

Politecnico di Bari also hosts a very active International Relationships Bureau which is part of a network including other polytechnic schools and research institutions worldwide. IRB is also in charge of receiving and supporting visitors (students and faculty members) from foreign countries.
