Daryl Christine Hannah was born on December 3rd, 1960, in Chicago. Daryl's off-screen life has been dramatic as well. As a child, doctors diagnosed her as borderline autistic. As a teen, she played soccer on the boys' team, studied ballet with Maria Tallchief, and studied drama at Chicago's Goodman Theater and with Stella Adler in New York. In her twenties, she lived with rockstar Jackson Browne, playing keyboards and singing back-up vocals for his band. Supposedly because of his abuse, Daryl left Browne and eventually began dating the even more high profile bachelor, John F. Kennedy, Jr. When Kennedy wavered in his intent for marriage, this relationship also failed. Her childhood interest in movies grew out of a lifelong battle with insomnia. Being the step-niece of director/cinematographer, Haskell Wexler (American Graffiti, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Colors), she had a prior connection to the film industry in which she has now made a name of her own. She was chosen to promote Karl Lagerfeld's perfume, "Sun Moon Stars", but was replaced a short time afterwards. She also took part in several fashion shows. Statuesque, striking, and thoroughly angelic, Daryl Hannah is an actress whose appearance can easily dominate a movie screen.
