Tracks:
12 years after the first film version, Vangelis eventually decided to release his official soundtrack. He wrote some lines printed in the 12 pages booklet: "Most of the music contained in this album originates from recordings I made in London in 1982, whilst working on the score for the film Blade Runner. Finding myself unable to release these recordings at the time, it is with great pleasure that I am able to do so now. Some of the pieces contained will be known to you from the Original Soundtrack of the film, whilst others are appearing here for the first time. Looking back at Ridley Scott's powerful and evocative pictures left me stimulated as before, and made the recompiling of this music, today, an enjoyable experience". The cover is a partial reproduction of the American movie poster. There is also a pretty booklet which contains a picture of Vangelis and some shots from the film. Furthermore, the words you can hear in Tales from the Future are sounds more than true words. In fact, Vangelis has always been fascinated by phonetics. He asked Demis Roussous to sing this song with typical oriental sounds, and not in a true language. In some tracks you can find some dialogues and sound effects taken directly from the film. These are the beginning track, Main Titles ( Deckard and the Esper), Blush Response, Wait for Me and Tears in the Rain, which contains the famous Batty's dying sequence. Wait for me is the only new track created by Vangelis for this release. |
