DISPENSA: La musica e le danze nelle rappresentazioni

 In molti testi drammatici si fa riferimento a musicisti presenti in scena o si commenta una canzone appena ascoltata. Soprattutto nelle rappresentazioni medievali la presenza dei minstrels è costante e si pensa che alcuni gruppi di menestrelli girovaghi fossero anche attori. Si pensa che ogni genere drammatico avesse un tipo di accompagnamento musicale: ad esempio per gli interludi si utilizzavano strumenti musicali specifici: viols, regalls, accordion, gitten, chimes, pipe and drum.
