Notes:
His 40-time was taken while running on a very fast surface. High school
wide receiver who also played basketball and baseball. Did not play in
1996. Lettered in '97, started one game and finished the year with 10 stops,
no passes broken up and one interception. Also returned a fumble 70 yards
for a score. Has started the past three years. Had 51 tackles, 12 passes
broken up and two picks in '98; 45 tackles, 10 passes broken up and five
interceptions in '99; and 51 tackles, 20 passes broken up and six int.
last season, when he was a second team All-Conference USA selection.
Positives: Adequate
size. Very good athletic ability and agility. Can jump through the roof.
Above-average tackler. Has some ball skills. At times will do a nice job
of playing the ball. Held his own in Louisville's 2000 game with Florida
State. At times looks like he has enough speed.
Negatives: Inconsistent
in almost all areas. Lacks top speed and recovery ability. At times is
slow coming out of his break. Is a different player in different games.
Lacks upper-body strength.
Summary: Has moments
and games when he looks like a legitimate NFL prospect and games when he
does not look like he is good enough for the next level. Needs to play
the way he played against Florida State all the time.

Player Bio
A three-year starter for the Cardinals,
Holman definitely is not lacking experience. He has good height and adequate
speed. He has good size and is a willing tackler, but he gives too much
away in his tackling abilities. Holman might have already reached his maximum
potential. His lack of speed is a big hindrance, and since he is not that
good of a tackler a move to safety might not be the answer either. --

Info
from CBS SportsLine:
Compact senior corner has been the
backbone of the Cardinals' secondary since early in his sophomore season.
Holman is an agile cover man with flexible hips and adequate playing speed
to compete for an NFL job this summer.
He plays the ball well and has learned
to use positioning and fine change of direction skills to play man coverage.
He will struggle in transition to close on the ball and needs further work
on his reads and route recognition to act more instinctively. He is best
in bump and run situations where his good functional strength allows him
to direct receivers.
He is not smooth in space and needs
extensive work in zone coverage. He is a sure tackler in run support against
the sweep displaying the ability to get off blockers. He has only adequate
speed and range and needs to rely on instincts, toughness and positioning
to anticipate routes.
Possible nickel corner with further
development. Good free-agent addition.
Info from FansOnly.com:
POSITIVES... Very productive
pass defender with explosive straight-line speed... Shows good hip flexibility
and leg strength... Excels in man and bump-&-run coverage, consistently
jamming the receivers at the line... Turns and runs smoothly coming out
of his backpedal... Mirrors receivers' moves with impressive effectiveness...
Shows the range and recovery quickness to make plays at the opposite end
of the field... Has great timing and body adjustment skills going up for
the ball... Very aggressive with receivers in the open... Plays on the
fringes to lend solid run support... Knows how to go low to deliver proper
wrapup tackles and has made dramatic improvements being more physical coming
off the edge.
NEGATIVES... Lets minor injuries
hamper his play... Struggles in transition to burst and close on the ball...
Seems to lack the ability to quickly diagnose the plays... More comfortable
playing man coverage, showing poor route awareness in the zone... Lacks
fluid movements working in space.
CAREER NOTES... Mainstay in
the Cardinals' secondary, starting for the last three years... One of the
best man coverage defenders in the game, evidenced by his 43 pass deflections
during his time as a starter... That figure is surpassed only by Sam Madison
(44, 1993-96) on the school's career-record list... Facing the opposition's
top receiver each week, he went on to not only contain his man, but also
secure 14 interceptions for his career... Only Leon Williams (15, 1978-81),
Ray Buchanan (15, 1989-92) and Madison (16) had more pass thefts in Cardinals
history... As superb as he has been in defending vs. the pass, Rashad also
established himself as a physical hitter, collecting 157 tackles during
his time at Louisville.
